SMS Messaging — How Homefield Games Users Opt In

This page documents the consent flow Homefield Games, Inc. uses for the recurring automated text messages it sends to users — pick/lineup reminders, morning contest recaps, pool-activity alerts, and account confirmations.

Opt-in is collected inside the app after a user signs in, so the live consent screen normally sits behind authentication. This page reproduces that exact experience publicly — including the verbatim disclosure copy, the off-by-default toggle, and all required disclosures — so it can be reviewed without an account.

SMS is optional and OFF by default. Creating an account does not enroll a user; consent is never pre-checked and never a condition of purchase.

Step 1 — Create an account & sign in

A user creates a Homefield Games account using email or a social login. During signup the user provides a mobile phone number, which is captured and verified. At this point the user is not subscribed to any text messages — providing a number is not consent to receive SMS.

Step 2 — The opt-in consent screen

After signup, the user is shown the opt-in modal below. The default state is OFF — there are no pre-checked boxes. The user must actively tap Enable SMS reminders to consent; tapping Not now leaves SMS disabled.

The card above is a non-interactive preview of the live in-app opt-in modal — off by default. The actual consent screen appears in the app after sign-in, where the buttons are live and the user taps to consent.

Always editable in Settings

Consent can be changed at any time from Settings → SMS Notifications. The toggle is OFF by default and carries the same consent disclosure as the opt-in modal:

SMS Notifications

We’ll text you reminders to submit picks, daily recaps, and friend-group activity. Reply STOP anytime. Message and data rates may apply.

Enable Notifications

By opting in, you agree to receive recurring automated text messages from Homefield Games at the number on file. Consent is not a condition of purchase. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for details.

The card above is an exact reproduction of the live Settings → SMS Notifications screen — toggle OFF by default.

Required disclosures

Confirmation & audit

When a user opts in, Homefield sends a confirmation SMS to the number on file. The consent is recorded as a TCPA audit trail: the consented phone number, the timestamp of consent, and the version of the consent text the user agreed to are all stored.

If the user later changes the phone number on file, the prior consent is automatically invalidated and the user must re-consent before any further messages are sent to the new number.

Opting out & help

Reply STOP (or STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, END, QUIT, CANCEL) to any message to opt out, or toggle the Messaging preference OFF in Settings. Reply HELP for support.
